Bahari is the Swahili word for the sea — the long Kenyan coastline, the monsoon winds, the Indian Ocean light. Among the Maasai, blue carries a second meaning: loyalty, and the kind of steady energy that holds a group together. Bahari takes both — water and fidelity — and sets them in bands of indigo and sky, framed by diamonds of bone white.
